What is the purpose of using a probe in Cloudmon?
The probe in Cloudmon is used to monitor various parameters such as jitter, latency, and loss for any IP endpoints using ICMP or TCP. It also allows you to trace the path to the IP endpoints and supports both IPv4 and IPv6 endpoints.
Additionally, the probe can be used to monitor network devices like Firewalls, Routers, or Switches via SNMP, which enables you to periodically poll device resources such as CPU, Memory, Disk, Interface status, and Network usage.
The probe can be installed in various geographical locations when you cannot extend or expose network connectivity to the IP endpoints or network devices to the controller. This enables you to monitor the network from different locations and identify any issues that may arise due to network latency, jitter, or other factors that may affect the performance of the network.
